Myles Cockburn, PhD


Dr. Cockburn is Co-Leader of the Cancer Control Research Program at USC Norris and Professor of Preventive Medicine at KSOM and Dermatology. He is also the Scientific Director for the Los Angeles Cancer Surveillance Program (Los Angeles’ SEER registry). Cockburn studies the etiology, prevention, and control of cancers, with a particular focus on geospatial approaches to environmental exposure assessment. His research in skin cancer prevention includes determining basic etiology and developing and implementing population-based prevention interventions in schools, high-risk populations, and patient populations.
